Default Who do you think will win the Pairs Skating competition?

Who do you think will win this year? The Russians have not lost a competition in nearly 4 decades! But the Canadian Team came across real strong this year. Who do you think will take the gold?

The Russians won. I was pretty shocked because as far as I know, the Canadians got the gold. To me, they got it. I just heard that the only reason the Russian team won was because of one of the judges. He was Ukranian, and he felt the Russians deserved to win. I think that was totally wrong! The Canadians had a flawless performance without any errors and they skated their hearts out!

I just saw a clip of the Canadians pushing the Russians down or visa/versa. Was that a computer or did that really happen??

And was the Canadians in the blue or red?

The Canadian pairs team have been extremely gracious and diplomatic in this. Anything you may have seen is most likely someone's idea of a funny joke (which it is not).

Oh, and in the final long program the Canadian team was wearing grey, the Russian team a kind of pink or salmon, as I recall.

I'm thinking now, that maybe what you saw might have been in the practice before the competition. The two teams collided on the ice shortly before the competion began. The Russian male tripped a bit, and the Canadian female fell to the ice. No one was hurt badly, and it was completely an accident.

I think the Canadians DESERVE to win. It i so unfair that the judges might have cheated! The Canadians had NO mistakes in their performance!

Ok, I just found out the truth about the judges today. I was listening to the radio and they said that the French judge was bribed by the Russian judge. He told the French judge that if he voted for the Russian team in this competition, the Russian judge would vote for the French in another competition. It was not the Ukranian judge's fault, even though I think that he did vote for the Russians. And I'm also surprised to see that the Canadian team was so strong in this. They ARE the winners according to me.

I agree with everyone. There's no question that the Canadians should have gotten the Gold. I missed the mens short program last night. Anyone know what the standings are on that?
