Default The Classic "Sock and a Sock and A Shoe and a Shoe" Scene!!!

Not only one of the funniest scenes in the history of the show, but one of the funniest comedy moments of all time!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFuniFSP2fo

However, I just learned that this whole scene between Archie and Meathead was ad-libbed! (According to an interview with Rob Reiner, the scene with Meathead putting on his shoes was supposed to happen, but Rob actually always put his shoes on "the stupid way" in real life!) Carol yelled at him for that, and the tape just kept rolling!!!

Wow, somehow that doesn't surprise me about Reiner. Don't like him or his character. So he was annoying in real life. Loved the scene though (because of Archie).

This was I and my mother's favorite scene in the series. Archie acted a lot like my father would act if he saw me doing the same thing, and if I were a child would have forced me to do it sock and sock and shoe and shoe.

This was also a nice father and son scene. If Archie did not like and care about Mike, he would not have hassled him so much on the issue. Kudo to whoever writer thought of it. Probably some weirdo who puts a sock and a shoe on first.

But Meathead had a point, if the house was on fire, he can hop on one foot and keep his foot dry.

Until he falls down from hopping and breaks his ankle and burns. Archie was right this time

HAHA! I just thought about this yesterday when I was sitting in the garage ready to go out. I always put on a sock-sock and a shoe-shoe. But yesterday I was reminded of his episode so I decided to do it the Meathead way. It's stupid! The correct way is Archie's way!

That was a funny episode. I think it was from "Gloria Sings the Blues." Archie couldn't stand to watch Mike put on his shoes & socks the wrong way.

Sorta reminds me of the scene from an episode where Archie berates Mike for putting mustard on his pretzel. . . .

If you are wearing step in shows I don't think it's a issue to put on a sock and a shoe on one foot first

I always put on a sock & a shoe and a sock & a shoe. It's easier that way.

I do sock sock shoe shoe. But I really don 't think the other way is a big deal, although it does take a little more time.

I can't believe they made such a big deal about how a person puts their socks and shoes on. It's a funny scene, but in my opinion it goes a little over the top.

There's an episode, I think it's from the 1st season, and there's a scene where they place a chair against the wall. Gloria can pick the chair up but Archie can't, I guess it's supposed to be a male/female thing, girls can do it but guys can't. Anyhow, it's a really funny scene, especially the part when Archie gets aggravated because he can't pick up the chair.

:
I thought it was hilarious cause it was part of Archie's personality.
