Default Ian't it crazy that the Evans were not able to get..........

Section 8 Housing

Food Stamps

I mean come on, a family with their financial situation should not have been paying FULL RENT.

And James really made too much for Food stamps????? When he was working on and off? Bullshet LOL

A Family of 3 as poor as them should have been receiving all kinds of government help since the only source of income was "part-time money"

BTW: It's a shame it wasn't a such thing as the "Dollar store" in the 70's because the Evans could have racked up

In "Getting Up the Rent" James mentioned paying $107 for the rent. I thought that was Section 8 housing price?

In some episodes, food stamps was mentioned, but James didn't want "hand outs" or Florida messing with welfare. I figured they were eligible, but James just didn't want it. Was there one episode where it was said they were not eligible? I assume there is or else you wouldn't be mentioning it.

$107 was worth a lot more in 1974 so they defintely should not have been paying that much.

And it would be stupid for James not to accept Food stamps when he always sh&t like this

"If we get any closer to the soup line we will be in the pot"

"I'm tired of just getting by"

"If it wasn't for bad luck we wouldn't have no luck at all"

I just don't see how a family of 5 with 3 kids were not eligible for food stamps when the sole provider made..................NOTHING

James was a prideful man and he wanted to take of his family, not the government. They weren't staving and he was able to care for them, times might have been hard but he provided for his family.

I remember a few episodes where James complained about there being no meat to go with their dinner. One that comes to mind is the episode when Wilona meets J.J.'s deaf friend from art school. They were having vegetable soup.

I'm sure there were plenty of other meatless dinners in the Evans home.

And it did their bodies good, you don't need meat at every meal. James did what a man is suppose to do, he took care of his family.

James was too stupid to realize that stamps could have expanded his cash flow.

And his attitude was shocking because he was never Full-time

Didn't we have this convo once before? Besides the Evans didn't even qualify for food stamps so James couldn't even get on stamps if he wanted.

I have to watch that episode again because he was never a full time worker and made nothing.

All of his jobs were part time. One of his part time jobs was at the car wash.

Exactly, how can you make to much for stamps and struggling to pay bills and buy food?

It's not about if you work full time or part time, it's about how much you make annually. And if James was working two part time jobs plus working odd jobs then he made too much to collect food stamps.

But it didn't match the financial situation because if someone makes too much for govt assistance, they are not stuggling in....................ALL AREAS

Food
Phone bill
Rent
Electric
