what makes this show the most popular on TV right now???

I disagree. The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest comedies to air on television in at least the past five or so years. This current season is probably one of the best, right next to season two.

I don't know. This show is the only sitcom that actually makes me fall down laughing. It has a great cast and they all have great chemistry together. It takes me back to the type of sitcoms I enjoyed when I was a kid. I don't understand the appeal of The Office or P & R so I guess we all just have to agree that we all like different things.

...because it has unique fun characters and great writing - i don't understand why some people criticize the show so much now that it is so popular; it is consistently funny and you can literally watch each episode over and over again and it's still good.

if its not your thing then fine, but to claim that its popularity is in some way inexplicable is unreasonable.

no offense, but you bothered to come to a board for a show you say it's funny and you don't get it's popularity. I hate when people do that.

The show is funny, there's nothing else like it on tv right now. It's unique. if we have to explain it to you, then well

It's a very funny and well-written show that shows no signs of going stale. The scientific dialogue is also a key to the show's success. Jim Parsons has really come into his own in his portrayal of Sheldon.

This is one of the best comedies ever on tv! Its hilarious, has real life personalities and is just genuine, unlike alot of "comedies" that are on now. Love it!

Im guessing, by the icon that you use, that you would be one of the people who think things like "family guy" is hilarious. If that is the case, that is why you dont understand Big Bang Theory. It takes a real sense of humor and understanding of everyday reality to get this show!
