A Tragic Event

Last night, I made yet another attempt to stimulate some conversation about this fine series! Like most of my efforts, it was fruitless! However, even though it got no replies, it, so far, has fourteen views. I would like to commemorate this reality by writing about a very painful experience that I had fourteen years ago. Backing up for a minute, one fact that I bet that a lot of you know is that before Kari Michaelsen was picked for the part of Katie from this series, Helen Hunt was considered. If she had been picked, she would have been picked, she would have been an eighteen-year-old playing the part of a seventeen-year-old. Instead, we ended up with a twenty-year-old playing a seventeen-year-old! In a way, I would say that not getting the part was a blessing in disguise for Helen Hunt. If she had been typecast as a premisquise airhead, it would have been very hard for her to sell herself in the very sophisticated roles that she took on later in the game. I will bet that most of you also know that one of her biggest claims to fame was her role as Jamie Buchman on "Mad About You". Just think about how different that part was from the part of Katie Kinisky! In any event, "Mad About You" was my favorite show ever! I would drool every time I would see Helen's character! It was very painful for me when that she finally died in 1999! And so now I am commemorating the fourteen views of my last post on this page by associating it with this painful experience that I had fourteen years ago! Man how time flies!
