Just fine John, thanks so much for asking.
The secret to surviving a Nor'easter is to stock up on candles (and something to light them with), batteries for the flashlights and plenty of bottled water, food and goodies (don't forget the pets). If you can, stay home. Most schools and many businesses are closed the first day or two after a major storm. It takes a few days for life to get back to normal. My area got about 15 inches, I think. Other areas got less, others more. I read that 1 to 3 feet of snow were blanketed over New York to Boston. Two lives were lost due to the exhaust pipe being covered by snow and the fumes that go into the car. They were separate incidents. One was a young boy who was with his Dad, who was shoveling his car out. The child got tired, so the father told him to sit in the car. He turned the car and the heat on, and he died. I can't believe he didn't check the exhaust pipe, but he's in his own hell now. We're fortunate that we have underground parking under that condo where we live. I'm sure the roads are fine, but I wouldn't be comfortable driving just yet. It does look pretty now, but that won't last long. When we get a lot of snow during this cold time of year, it's here for a looooong time, and soonturns black. It lasts until we get a couple of unseasonable warm days to melt some of it or until spring. I'm heading out to make a snowman now. Yeah, right. lol.

Glad to hear you're doing OK Janice. NYC got some but not too bad - six inches. But CT & Boston got clobbered.

I agree. I'm glad you're doing ok Janice.
All that snow and freezing temperatures, must get frustrating. I hope the terribly cold weather doesn't last for weeks/months there. It's been over two decades since I lived in the Northwest and had to deal with lots of snow. |
