Alan Hale on HAZEL
Before Gilligan, Alan Hale frequently guest starred on sitcoms.
He was on HAZEL twice in two different roles! The Burglar in Mr. B's PJ's (1962) … Peter When Alan Hale breaks in to the house searching for food, Hazel clobbers him with a baseball bat. Then when she learns he's just a nice guy down on his luck, she helps him get back on his feet. Hazel Scores a Touchdown (1963) … Coach Murphy Alan Hale is a football coach having trouble with the meddlesome owners. Hazel encourages him to stand up for himself and gives him a winning play. Like Gilligan, the first season of Hazel was in BW but unlike Gilligan, it was never touched by the magic of colorization. |
