I hear that the Canadian UFO that involed the "Guardian" videotape" was proven to be a total fabricated hoax. Is this true? Wow, it kind of surprises me because while I didn't know it was a UFO or not, the people interviewed in the story seemed very credible and I thought they must have seen something. They did not seem like fabricators of a hoax. Honestly, this now makes me question pretty much everyone on UM

almost 99.9% of all UFO stories are hoaxes. the other .01% is "uncategorized"

It is pretty silly when you think about it. Why would an alien spaceship have a bunch of flashing lights on it like that? It was obviously done by whomever was filming it.

I've researched the case and never seen any concrete proof it was a hoax. I do know there was a strong suspect who was thought to be Guardian named Bobby Chereoubolis, or something like that. He was believed to be the man who shot the film but I never saw proof or a demonstration of how exactly it was done.
In fact I haven't seen anything at all about the case since the early 90's. If anyone has any recent links or stories of hoax proof would love to see it. |

This website gives a lot more details that weren't in the original UM segment. Based on these details, it does seem like this was a big hoax but I don't think we'll ever know.

Most likely, it was a hoax. Because even in the original UM segment it stated that the documents sent by Guardian ostensibly from the Canadian government were very likely forgeries as were the photgraphs of the supposed aliens. So if those were a hoax, it seems pretty likely the videotape itself was as well. Also its highly unlikely the cameraman just stumbled on this, prior knowledge point to it being a hoax unless our good buddy Bobby was somehow dealing with the Aliens.
All I was saying was that I had never seen any smoking guns or concrete proof that it was . On Unsolved Mysteries wiki it is still listed as unresolved. There was the Guardian suspect Bobby Cherobolis, (I know I am not spelling his name correctly but it was somewhere in that neighborhood.) But so far as I know he has never been formally questioned. And no demonstration of how the UFO was staged or any explanation for the mysterious helicopters have been put forth either. The case always intrigued me personally, if it was a hoax you got to admit it was a pretty elaborate one, but I've seen nothing about the case since the early 90's. So it seems unlikely we will ever know the full truth. But I'd say there is probably an 80% chance it was a hoax. |

I'm fairly certain this was debunked last I heard.
