I was watching the Kerry Nixon case and another one popped into my head. Here are the details I remember. A teen girl went to the store to get a romance novel. ON her way home home she was pulled into the sleeper of a big rig and brutally raped. She was some hours later dumped out. She found her way home. I don't remember the girls name or if it was solved.

No that's not it. This girl survived and went home. Her mother called police. Her mom had reservations about her going out to walk to the store after dark.

The only case that mentions romance novel is Kathy Hobbes. You are confusing 2 different cases. She is the only victim of any crime profiled on um who went to the store to buy a romance novel in the late evening.

Yeah it's 100% Kathy Hobbs that benoitbabe is remembering. The interview with Kathy's mother was quite extensive and she did express reservations about allowing her daughter to walk to the store at that time of night. I believe it was explained that Kathy's mother thought that Kathy would be accompanied to the store by friends but that obviously was not the case.

No, thinking back it could have been an errend. I just know this girl survived an abduction and brutal rape before being dumped out of a big rig.

I think it is 2 different cases. I do believe the big rig guy was caught. But the girl that was murdered, I'm not sure if her killer was caught. I remember the mom saying the girl knew she was going to die young.
