Default If it had picked up for another season...

I heard that they were HOPING to be picked up for one more season, and I heard that this season would have focused on Greg moving off to college, Marcia moving into the attic and possibly Mike and Carol having another child of their own.

Did anyone else hear or read this, I remember hearing it was a definite possibility somewhere.

Sherwood and Lloyd Schwartz have both stated that if their had been another season Robert Reed would not have been part of it!

I read in Barry Williams' book "Growing Up Brady" that all the 6 of the kids and a newly-hired manager named Harvey Shotz had a meeting with Lloyd and Sherwood Schwartz regarding the 6th season. The kids were demanding changes and steering the show in a new direction...Bobby wanted a steady girlfriend, Cindy wanted a horse and Greg wanted to deal with more serious issues. Apparently, after the kids voiced their demands to Sherwood Schwartz, he was very taken-aback and disappointed, but not mad.

I recommend the book "Growing Up Brady, I Was a Teenage Greg", it has a lot of inside information. But, I'm pretty sure you've all read it by now.

In a way, I think that was really awful how that guy made them do that. Sherwood was the guy who got these kids famous. When I watched the movie of how it really happened, he seemed understanding, but you knew deep down he didn't like what they had in mind and knew their new manager was a crazy fool for doing this.

I think had the show been renewed, Sherwood would had agreed to some of the storylines or would have worked together with the kids to make sure they were satisfied and he was as well. For example, Cindy wanted her own horse...that could have happened. Pretty easy. She would have taken riding lessons the way Michelle did in the final Full House episodes or how DJ did in the earlier seasons. Bobby getting a girlfriend, yes, perhaps Milicent. Some of the other ideas were just too much, especially for what the show was to America. I forget...didn't Marcia say she wanted to elope with a Prince? I doubt this would have happened until the season finale, after she graduated. Most likely, she would have met a Prince and they would have dated in the season. I could have seen Sherwood doing something to make them happy, but also keeping it "The Brady Bunch".

I think overall, had Sherwood accedpted their ideas, they would have been parts of "Very special episodes"...like Peter wanting to join a gang or something. I think it would have just been a one time thing, all ending with a sappy ending. Sherwood would have found a way around it. No way he would have let them do the same thing episode after episode. Jan dropping out of school woul have never EVER happened. I think she wanted to go to France and be a clothing designer or have her own clothing line. Maybe in a dream sequence as Bobby usually had, yeah...
