Default JamesG, Have You Seen Jean Claude Van Damme And Dolph Lundgren's New..............

Universal Soldier sequel? I was at Walmart last week and i saw it. I haven't seen it but i'm gonna see it next week. Scott Adkins is also in this and he's done 2 movies with Jean which were Assassination Games and The Expendables 2. Jean is supposed to be a bad guy in this. How many sequels is this for Universal Soldier JamesG? I remember you told me the other sequels but i forgot how many of them there is. Jean and Dolph have been in 3 of them right?

I picked it up a while ago, but still didn't see it yet. I have so many movies to catch up on that I don't know what to watch first.

There are 6 Universal Soldier films all together.

The first sequel was The Return. It is now considered non-canon (not part of the official series' story). Dolph Lundgren was not in it.

Then came Brother in Arms and Unfinished Business. These two were straight-to-video and starred Matt Battaglia. The two films are related to each other, but are also not considered canon to the main series.

Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren were not involved.

In 2010, Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren came back for Universal Soldier: Regeneration. This film ignores The Return and is regarded as being "the real sequel" to the original film.

Now the new one is Day of Reckoning and it's the overall 6th film, but the 3rd according to official canon.

No, Regeneration came straight-to-DVD here in the U.S. back in 2010.

It didn't have a U.S. theatrical release, but had one overseas.

Perhaps the stores are re-stocking them to promote the new Day of Reckoning.

Don't worry, I'll let you know when I see it.

If you want to see the movies I've been watching, check out the What Was The Last Movie You Watched thread in here.

I have seen it and had high hopes for the movie, and I was disappointed. It was a big bore fest to say the least.
