Default None of my damn shows are on this week!

I should have said, None of my shows ARE on this week. Sorry Grammar Nazis.

I live in China and get my television programming content online. One website that I use will show and list a new episode of a series for the week and keep it in a list. I am going through some sitcom withdrawl.

No Mike and Molly for two weeks (new episode April 9th). This show in my opinion is really funny and a sweet show, and last weeks episode "Peggy goes to Branson" was funny as ****.

No new episodes of The Middle or Modern Family this week either, this is two weeks without a new episode. My Episode Guide does not list a new episode of either program past March 14th, neither does the network state when a new episode will begin.

No Office until April 12th! I disagree with everyone else, I love this season.

And this really hurts.....No Parks and Recreation for three more weeks, April 19th. This is my favorite show, and it pained me when I found out that it was going to be off for a month. This is going to be a show I am going to still be watching 30 years from now on the Oldies Channel.

The only show that I watch that will be on the next two weeks is Raising Hope, which to me is a real hit and miss program.

I really hate that seemingly all my shows have to take a break, at the same time. Why now? It seems like all the actors on these shows can do one or two more episodes a season considering how much money they make.

It's springtime and daylight savings time is over, network think you're outdoors until may sweeps, and then outdoors again until late September

Actually, you were correct in your post's title.

None (or "not one") of my shows IS on this week.

My shows ARE not on this week.

I know the frustration of having your favorite television show pre-empted by an event, but I think it's good that sports are still on broadcast networks. We need more sports, not less, on free television.

Default None of my TV shows are on this week!

None of my television comedies are on this week. No Mike and Molly, The Middle, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation or The Office.

My question is, why does every show I like take the week off? Sure, I understand if one doesn't come on one week, but it is so annoying when ALL of them are not on and it makes no sense. Also, since the shows took over a month of for Christmas.

I guess I lack the understanding of the TV business, but if the shows are ready and in the can, just play them! Is it just me, or are there less shows per season now than there were in the 70's-90's?

I for one am glad cause I'm behind and have 4 or 5 eps to still watch. The writers may not be done yet so they have to catch up. The tv season does seem to be shorter than it was in the 70's-90's.

In the 1970s 24 episodes was the norm (In the 1950s you had as many as 40 episodes in a season!), today you are lucky to get 20. In earlier years (Prior to the turn of the 21st century) TV shows would run practically NONSTOP from September through May, with reruns or a "Summer Replacement" taking place from June through September (The "Replacement" would become a full-fledged series if it garnered enough ratings). Today, a show will debut in September, then you will only get fresh episodes during the "Sweeps" in November, February and May, during the other months its reruns, specials and replacements.

Two episodes? I thought that you can only air one at a time? By the way I'm sorta new to the board. Haven't posted on here in over a year!
