Default Dan frustrates me!!

Hi all!Iam new to this board and I love it!I have just the reruns of Roseanne and look forward to the show.My venting is that Dan just cant seem to stay with 1 job before he wants to change to another job knowing that e had bills to pay and to help keep food in the house. It jsut seems like he went from 1 job to the next.I hated it wehn he wanted to do something but in my thinking he pretended that he had to be pursuaded to do it and then got mad when it didnt turn out like he had hoped!Any one else feel this way? Thanks

Dan didn't think things through a lot when it came to working and having jobs. Even when he opened up his bike shop, that was a big flop. He had no foresight.

There was a episode when Becky said this to him

"The bike shop failed because you don't know how to run a business" LOL

That was CRUEL! Becky should have kept those thoughts to herself instead of making Dan feel worse than he already did. He didn't need some mean spirited little twerp to point out his failure of the bike shop. He knew he made a mistake. But instead of Becky showing some support and family loyalty, she throws a hissy fit because of how it all would affect MARK! I hated Becky in that episode.

Great actress
Lecy Garonson sure was a great actress at being mean, annoying, bratty Becky. I liked the second Becky much better....(Sarah Chalke.) Sarah was more likeable IMO.

Becky #2 was too good looking to be a part of that family.

Roseanne wasn't any better at sticking with jobs. There was Wellman Plastics Factory, The Chicken Delight fast food, the hair salon, selling magazine subscriptions, Rodbell's Luncheonette, then finally the Lunch Box. Maybe I'm forgetting one of her jobs. Oh yeah, she also worked at the Lobo Lounge for a while.

I thought that it was ridiculous that Dan would start a bike shop in a town where most people could barely afford a car, much less a motorcycle. He didn't have Lanford's demographics in mind.

Well he did give it a try which he should get some credit for.

I think Roseanne had better reason for her job jumping than Dan. She left Wellman Plastics because her boss was a complete jackass and the jobs she had up until Rodbell's felt temporary until something more secure came along (which it did). Her job at Rodbell's could've proven a lifer had they not shut down and even then, she successfully opened a business (Dan couldn't do that).
