BBC America Renews "Ripper Street" for 2nd Season
BBC America Renews "Ripper Street" for Second Season
1/29/2013 by Michael O'Connell BBC America's "Ripper Street" will return to the lineup in 2014. The latest original scripted effort for the network has been renewed for a second season. The network announced the pickup on Tuesday, having aired just two episodes of the co-production with Tiger Aspect Productions and Lookout Point. BBC One is currently airing Ripper Street in the U.K. "Ripper Street on BBC America has just begun, with an additional six more episodes featuring great guest stars and powerful performances ahead this season," said network svp of programming Richard De Croce. "We’re looking forward to exploring more of Victorian London in season two." The stateside involvement in the renewal comes just hours after BBC commissioned a sophomore run for the freshman drama. "Quality and ambition run through Ripper Street, from Richard Warlow’s original scripts, the incredible cast and the captivating direction," said BBC drama commissioning controller Ben Stephenson. "All combine to create a period series with a modern and gripping edge that will return for a second series in 2014." "Ripper Street", created by Warlow, stars Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg as detectives working an East London neighborhood in the wake of the notorious Jack the Ripper murders. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...-street-416386 |

I can't get into these Victorian dramas but from what I've seen, it's a pretty good show, production and acting wise.
