Default How could I find card players?

Ok, I'm trying to find local ppl to get together and have card games with, mainly Hearts.

How would be a good way to go about finding ppl like that? All of my friends would rather be dipped in hot oil than to play cards, seriously lol

I have put an ad on Craigslist in the "Activity" section, but all it has generated is a TON of spam mail and junk mail. Then again I live in a small town so I had to put it in a neighboring bigger city.

How can you go about finding, and JOINING a Hearts club ot Bridge club like I'm always hearing about ppl doing.

You might put up a notice on the bulletin board at the local grocery store, your public library or the local book store. My husband's relatives love to play cards, especially Poker, Tonk & Rummy. I always liked to play Rook, Uno and Crazy Eights. I would play Poker but they play for money and I always lose. Hope you find some card players.

The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) has a" find a club" page:
http://www.acbl.org/play/findClub.html

If there isn't a club nearby, they could probably give you some direction in starting your own bridge club.

You might try Meetup.com. It's a website that helps you find or start a group based on your interests. I also agree with AB's suggestion of putting flyers up at places where card players are likely to hang out. If there's a community center in your area, you might strike gold. You might also try putting a want ad in a community circular like "The Thrifty Nickel."

Edited to add:

Hearts Meetups
Card Games Meetups

Thanks you both

I really enjoy the game Hearts and a few other and hope to find ppl to play with

And I also like Crazy 8s, as far as Poker, I to me it's really only fun if you are betting other than that I kinda think it's a little boring lol
