Default Do you think the Monday after the Super Bowl should be a national Holiday

Well There was a petition to make it a holiday because the Monday after the SB is not really a productive day at work.

I always felt the SB should be on Saturday so if you go to a SB party you don't have to worry about trying to get up the next day.

Saturday! Saturday! Saturday! Just doesn't have the same ring-lol

I don't think it should be a national holiday, but it would be nice if places opened up later the next day like they do on New Years Day. I work retail so it would be nice to be able to go in work "late" the next day. I start work at 5 AM so I will either have to go to work extra tired or only watch the first half of the game (and I ain't doing that).

Do many nations in Europe and Latin America have the day after World Cup Day off?

After the additional week off between the championship games and Superbowl, I don't think it's that big of a deal to have the SB on Saturday.

I understand the whole Super Sunday mystique, but whatever.
Things change.

Otherwise start the game at 3:00 - 4:00pm

There is a crapload of waiting around on Super Bowl Sunday.
And people will get home/to bed at a reasonable time.
Reasonable for the recovery some people will need.

I think it should be a national holiday. I never understood the big deal about not coming into work or school the day after the big game. I mean its only one day.

I dont like the Saturday night aspect of it at all. I guess Im just used to having the game on Sunday.

To me it fits on saturday night because the SB is a partying type of event and a saturday night is a night for.............partying

What is needed is a law PROHIBITING the starting of Championship games after 7:30 PM Eastern Time. (The Super Bowl starts around 7:00 PM) The NCAA BCS Football Championship, The NCAA Championship, and the World Series start as late a 9:30 PM, causing people to stay up well past midnight. (I know, its all about the Money, and they want the left-coasters to be home from work when the games start. never mind that 2/3 of the nation lives EAST of the Mississippi River. Its a case of "The Tail wagging the Dog", a Minority telling a Majority what to do. I cannot how many work and school hours are lost in the eastern half of the US because people and their kids, too tired to go to work or school, call themselves and/or their kids in "Sick" the day after a championship.

I don't think the SuperBowl starting just after 6 pm is that big of a deal - not when you compare it to to times MLB starts their playoffs.

Although I am in the eastern time zone, I do understand that the networks do want to get those in the west watching as well. We in the east do get a lot more time slot advantages than those living in the west, so I don't think easterners should be complaining.
