Oh No Did this ever happen to you?

Yesterday I went to a jewlery/coin shop and I had a question about State Quarters (1999-2008). The owner said "Are you stupid" I told him don't call me that I just wondered if state quarters went up in price he said they didn't and kept putting me down like I was some kind of idiot so I told that ***** just let me leave and I just stormed-out and told "God Bless You".

But were you ever a customer who felt unsatisfied?

I was never insulted like that in stores but I was accused of shoplifting a few times when I was a teen.

I had an experience like that with a doctor one time. Let's say his bedside manner was in need of improving! I became pregnant with my first baby shortly after I married. I was very scared, young and insecure. I started gaining a lot of weight and the doctor very boldly told me that I'd better stop gaining so much weight or my husband would leave me!That hurt! I was so upset. But the good thing was I actually weighed less than before after the baby was born. I really watched my diet all through the pregnancy. So I guess the a**hole should be thanked!

i would've answered him with "not as stupid as a cashier that talks to customers like that. They have a tendency to get fired when people complain to the manager."

Cool

Paul I'm sorry you got treated that way. It should never happen. But people who work in customer service (I used to be one of them!) are only human. They often have to take a lot of crap from customers and sometimes they reach their limit and unfortunately take it out on the next customer through the door. And sometimes they're just having a bad day. But it goes both ways. Often customers come in already in a bad mood and take it out on the poor clerk who had nothing to do with what upset them in the first place.

I can't get over how people handle customers. If the buyer/man thought the question was foolish, couldn't he just say. No they are the same price. Still a quarter in value. You don't have to insult the person. That is rude. One thing I don't do when I get frustrated with someone is swear. Do not lower your standards by swearing. Just steam to yourself, say goodbye and leave.

Oh No

^Well I didn't curse at him or say "Go back to Russia you ****"!...or a nasty ethnic Russian slur (those DO exist) but didn't Jesus tell us to love your enemies (I have some problems with this), do to others as others do to you, and be kind to one another?

I know i'm guilty of giving someone a hard time, but I just hate being put down.

Paul, if you have a question just bring it here first Any one of a hundred of us could have told you that the state quarters were still worth a quarter.
