Cool New sitcom for Norm

This was first announced in November, but Norm MacDonald will be starring in a new sitcom for NBC. In it he and Jon Lovitz (another Saturday Night Live alum) will play mismatched roommates. A few days ago, I learned that the proposed series (which will be produced by Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison) has a title: "Leave Me Alone." Expect to see it this coming fall.

I can't wait.
I do hope it is picked up, Norm was one of the best shows on ABC in a long time. I was crushed when it was canned.

I feel the same as you. But I was actually mad when Norm was canceled. It would probably still be on if ABC hadn't tinkered with its time slot. I mean, the show typically garnered respectable ratings when it was on Wednesdays at 9:30, with The Drew Carey Show as its lead-in.

Not only does Norms new series need to be picked up it also needs to last. First he gets fired from SNL then his sitcom gets unfairly cancelled. I've been wondering if Norm McDonald is just too funny for TV.

Well, he was fired from the anchor position on SNL's Weekend Update because some ignorant jackass (namely Don Ohlmeyer)supposedly didn't think he was funny. But hey, at least Norm isn't afraid to admit that O.J. Simpson is guilty.

For the unjust cancellation of The Norm Show, I'm glad that ABC has been getting its comeuppance lately. As you might know, that network has been languishing in the ratings of late. It just goes to show that when they make an unfair decision like that, it can cost them in the long run.

In any case, even though Norm's new series won't begin until fall, I'd definitely like to see him star in a sitcom that will become a hit and last a minimum of five or six years.

I hope Norm and Jon's new show gets picked up. They are both very funny and deserve to have some prime-time success. I think NBC is a much better network than ABC. I hope it gets a nice Thursday night time-slot.

I hope so too, especially since Thursday is the most important night for NBC, ratings-wise. I mean, that's when their shows garner the best ratings.

I like both Jon Lovitz and Norm MacDonald. The way I see it, Norm is one of the most misunderstood comedians. Contrary to what some jackasses would want you to think, he is funny (ditto "The Norm Show").

As for Jon Lovitz, he definitely deserves a long-running sitcom. Well, he had one in NewsRadio, but he was only on the show for its final season. I think he's one of the most underrated SNL veterans.

I agree with all of you,Norm Macdonald is a comic genius! People who don't think he's funny are the people who don't understand dry humor. That show had the perfect cast. (Especially, when they had Nikki Cox) God Bless NBC
