Hello! My name is Gonzalo, I am 22 years old, and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most people in this forum are from USA but I hope I can find some people from Latin America here
. This January I visited USA for the first time. I stayed in Miami and Orlando. Beautiful places!I discovered Unsolved Mysteries in 2003. A channel which now no longer exists aired throughout its existance UM episodes. I remember the first one I saw: it was the one where it was told the story of Dan Tondevold and how he stole Ellen McClung Berry (dirty bastard!). I remember that I never missed one episode that whole year. In 2004 they stopped airing UM episodes. But many years later I discovered that they were a lot of episodes uploaded in Youtube, so I started to see them again. I then discovered this forum and the UM page at Wikia, where I search for updates. Im very glad that a lot people kept, keep and will keep the UM spirit alive. I wanted to introduce myself before starting to comment on other threads and create threads of my own. I hope I can get along with everyone in here. And sorry if sometimes my English is not correct! |

Welcome Gonzalo! I'm happy that you discovered Unsolved Mysteries and joined us here.
Your english is excellent. If you don't mind me asking, what's you're native language? Is it spanish? Sorry, I'm not sure what language people speak in your country. We have many bilingual and multilingual people in the USA but even though our educational system often requires students to take a foreign language class, they never become fluent speakers. I've been trying to teach myself Spanish but I am making very slow progress. My daughter's husband speaks english, urdu, punjabi, and a little arabic. He's teaching her to speak urdu. When they have kids, I'd like to be able to speak spanish well enough to teach it to their children. I think my daughter might learn urdu and spanish much faster than I have. In college last year, she had to learn enough of the language in only one semester to give a final report to the class speaking only in spanish. Afterwards, though, she forgot most of it! lol My knowledge is limited mostly to phrases. I can sort of understand what's being said when I hear it spoken, but if I have to speak it myself, I usually can't find the right words. I'm limited to things like, me gusta, no me gusta, buenos dias, por supuesto, lo siento, todo el mundo, etc. And none of that is very useful when trying to have a conversation with someone! lol |

Type "Spanish" in Wikipedia. There is a very interesting article about the language, and all the variations of it that are present in different Latin American countries. "Unsolved Mysteries" in Spanish is "Misterios sin resolver"

Hola y bienvenido.
Your English is great and if you make a mistake don't worry at all--there are plenty of people whose native language is English and don't write as well as you do.

I remember seeing UM at 18:00, in winter time when it's dark and it was creepy...
Infinito was a great channel, it now exists but it's no longer the same, has totally changed. It's sad. I have to see the segmentes at the forbidden site (YTB).... |

I read about Elizabeth Short. Very interesting case. Are you a Colo Colo, Universidad de Chile or Universidad Católica fan? I am a River Plate fan. Im sure you must like Marcelo Bielsa (if you like soccer, jaja). |
