"The Office" Scoop: Who Is Returning for the Finale?

Michael Scott may not be returning to Scranton, but two other longtime Dunder Mifflin employees will be.

"The Office's" showrunner Greg Daniels revealed former series regulars Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak would be coming back for the show's one-hour finale.

All three departed the series at the end of Season 8, with Kaling and Novak making appearances in the Season 9 premiere.

Both Kaling and Novak, who also wrote for the show, are now working on Kaling's Fox comedy, "The Mindy Project", in which Novak will play a love interest of Kaling's character in an upcoming arc.

Nope. They weren't there. They would have been welcome additions, IMO.

With this I can breathe a little easier lol. So that last episode wasn't the finale. I was panicking there for a second after reading that other thread!!

The NBC has announced that the airdate for the last episode of "The Office": 16 May 2013. The series finale will be the show’s 199th and 200th episodes, and will run for one hour, starting at 9:00 pm.

I was hoping a series finale would be 2 hours. lol

I think the show kind of jump the shark when she started dating Michael

Mindy Kaling confirmed during tonight’s PaleyFest 2013 panel in Beverly Hills that she will be returning to shoot "The Office" series finale.

“It’s really exciting,” she offered. “I’ve just read the pages, and it’s a really amazing episode of television.”

In reality, there are six airings left for this show, and they'll start on either 4 or 11 April. The airdate for the "The Farm" polit episode ("The Farm" was not picked up as a series) has been confirmed for 14 March.
