(The Kramdens and Nortons are loading their rental car.)
Ralph (yells): "COME ON ALICE! I WANT TO GET TO WASHINGTON BY 4PM." Alice (yells): "I AM COMING RALPH." Ed: "Boy, Ralph we are going to see Barack get appointed again as President." Ralph: "Yeah. First black man to be elected twice." (The girls come down.) Ed: "This will be a special two days with Martin Luther King Day happeneing the next day." Trixie: "You can say that again Ed." (They pack the car.) Ralph: "Annnnd away we go." (They drive off. Later on, they approach the toll booth.) Ralph: "Norton, give me the EZ Pass." Ed: "I thought that you had it." (Ralph pulls over.) Ralph (yells): "NORTON, I AM GOING TO FRACTURE YOUR SKULL. YOUR STUPIDITY CAUSED US TO LOSE MONEY." Alice: "I got it right here Ralph." Ralph: "Norton, it's a good thing that she had it or YOU would have to pay." (Ralph goes to start the car. The engine won't run over.) Ed: "You got a dead engine Ralph." Ralph: "This is all your fault Norton. You were the one that talked us into driving all the way down to Washington." Ed: "Me? You said you wanted to take the bus down." Alice: "Ralph, it's no ones fault. You two would have to push the car to the nearest service station." (They go out to push the car.) Ed (singing): "It's a long way to..." Ralph (yells): "SHUT UP!" (They finally arrive in Washington DC in the area where the Civil Rights March happened.) Ralph: "Boy, 50 years ago this where people had the Civil Rights March. What significance." Ed: "I wonder if Martin Luther King would be proud that Barack is getting inaugurated the day before his birthday." Alice: "I am sure that he would." Trixie: "I wonder if all the Civil Rights leaders would be proud of Barack and what he has done." Ralph: "I hope so. He is very intellignet and his wife is a good one. We should all be proud that we are witnessing this." (They all sing a song about a president being inaugurated.) (Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience applauds.) Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT." |
