what are your favoite cheers moments, since there is i am sure a favorite cheers episode i thought about doing classic cheers moment one so even if you didn,t like the episode that much you maybe like a certin moment in the episode, there were so many cheers classic moments it is hard for me to say,so i will give you a list of my very favorites that i can think of,mostly involving the sam and diane thing and mostly from that era,not that the rebbeca/kirstie alley years did not have theres to,but i would have to say that most of my personal favorites are in the diane years, but thats only my thoughts, but being a huge sam and diane fan i guess that it is nautral that my favorit moments would be involving them,i love just about all the sam and diane moments and i like the others as well,so here are my favorite cheers moments in the show, but what are your favorite cheers moments, what are the parts that you really like for whichever reason, what do you like best?
my favorite is no partuclar order since i can,t think of them 1.cheerio cheers in which the scene where diane is about to leave and sam and her start to hug and then they get very intaminte and diane is about to leave cheers for good i thought it was a very nice ending and being the VERY VERY big sam and diane fan that i am it was nice to see them in that posttion being very intaminte,i thought that it had a certin mystery and aphonsphere to it as well that most cheers moments or sam and diane moments for that matter don,t have, but anyways it was really nice to see them admiting there true feelings for one another which doesn,t happen very offten 2.the coach reterns to action where coach finally gets the girl,it was nice to have show feartuing coach which doesn,t happen very often and to have see coachs luck changing was very nice to see and i would have liked to see more episodes were coachs victory is seen and he lives reasonalby happily for the time being 3.fear my copilot where sam and diane go down in that plane and they admit there true feelings and the romantic aphnosphere was really nice to see as well, 4.resuce me where sam has that dream about saving diane from making a very big mistake and where he is on the plane and the stewardess asks him if hes allright and he says yes just a little chill thats all, 5.how to love thy nebough where norm stands up for his wife vera it was really nice to see that as well because it shows you norm really is loyal to his wife 6.the one where vera has a pie thrown in her face it was really nice to see vera atlast even if she did have a pie thrown in her face it was worth seeing her for the first time i thought it was nice 7.friends romans and accountents where norm is throughing the boss around and defending dianes and his as well dignety and repuation as you can see this as well proves that norm is really a nice guy and he is very loyal and he is an excellent friend, that is one of my very favorite episodes as well as moments, good scene 8.the scene where cliff and his new poteniel girlfriend are meeting without there masks on and his sees her for the first time and they can,t do anything so sam does something and he starts playing moon river and he has to move them himself since they are to nervous to do anything, another classic moment i think 9.any friend of dianes where julia duffy plays dianes friend who has just broken up with her intellecual boyfriend and where she then decides to persue sam,i REALLY REALLY LOVED THAT PARTICULAR EPISODE AS WELL,IT WAS VERY FUNNY AND WELL WRITEN,but the scene where she and sam are pretending to be an item berfore they were achually one and then when she leaves they start to fight with eachor and she walks in on them at a very bad moment, another really well done episode i thought 10.coachs daughter where coach and his daughter are having a very true and touching conversation, that was a very well done scene and it was very sad and touching, still makes me cry 11.truce and consquences where diane and carla are getting drunk really well done and the one with the last one annd last but not least the scene where coach and diane and sam are going out and they all start singing and the phone rings and we know that it is that cold self centerted cruel, stupied wich irene blanchard, and coach knows that for him it is over and that she is probably going to apolijuse for her self centeredness but that she doesn,t realize her real cruelness, still makes me cry and it was a very touching scene almost as touching as the scen with his daughter, very well done scene |

i like alot of sam and di moments.. the show down end... the one where they grab eachothers noses.. an early ep where they bunch eachother out.. (the julia duffy ep?) um and ALOT more.. the one chambers vs. malone where diane took sam to court to propose to him (that one was good .. nick at nite skipped it.. maybe they wont this time) um and alot of other moments.. so you get my idea with them..
heres NOT sam and diane related guys lol... "home movies" i think thats what that eps called.. (nan never showed that either.. see a pattern guys? all good ones.. hmm lol ) and they video taped everyone at the bar for woodys parents and they show carla at home barbequing and about 10 kids runing across the screen trying to kill eachother.. and fraiser at his work and a guy commits suicide in back of him by jumping out a window and he just sees it as they watch it back.. That was a classic!! LOL um carla has alot of funny moments.. she makes me laugh inbetween alot okay im tired ill continue this another time. lol

Let's see...
I love the episode where Diane's cat dies, and she's so upset about it, and finally Sam gets her to tell him about it, and he starts crying too... "Power Play", when Sam kicks open Diane's door and picks her up and carries her over to the bedroom... "Diane's Allergy", when she moves in with Frasier and starts sneezing and talking in that funny voice because she's allergic to him... the entire episode of "Love, Death, Birth, and Rice" (?) when Sam comes back after unsuccessfully trying to stop Diane and Frasier's wedding, and Woody makes his first appearance, and Frasier confronts Sam with a pistol, and Sam goes to the convent to get Diane to come back to Cheers... the episode where Woody wins big in gambling, only Sam didn't bet his money for him, and Woody's furious at him, and Sam has them use Coach's method of making up, which involves them putting their arms around each others shoulders and singing "Home on the Range" for half an hour... "Suspicion", where Diane is convinced the bar is going to retaliate against her for a trick she played on them, and ends up doing a poetry reading on TV where she imitates a chicken... "Abnormal Psychology", and the look on Frasier's face when he sees Lilith with her hair down for the first time... Sam imagining him and Diane old together in "I do, Adieu." And on, and on, and on... |

One more.
I love when they toast Coach in "Thanksgiving Orphans". That's one of my favorite things about the show--how they remember him. In a lot of shows, if a character dies, the rest of the characters pretend like they never existed in the first place, which always annoys me. That's why I love Cheers, along with a million other reasons. |

I love this topic!
Sam and Diane moments: I agree with a previous post that the plane scene is "Fear Is My Co-Pilot" is one of the best. I love any moment when Sam and Diane show their true passion for each other. Great moment! I love the last scene in "I Do, Adieu" Both the "final dance" scene and the last scene in the bar. I cried my eyes out. Wonderful! I like the scene from "Powerplay" when Sam kicks the door in, being assertive like Carla recommended, and Diane calls "the police". I especially love when Sam says, "Sometimes you make me wish I was never born" I love the scene in "How much do I love thy, let me call you back" when Diane gets drunk and she and Sam have that convo in her apartment. Shelley plays a very funny drunk. I love when Diane returns to Cheers in the last episode, great great great! This is so hard to choose..... |

I've been watching Cheers since it first ran on NBC all those years ago. I think these are my top classic moments of the show. (I was going keep it 10 or under, but wasn't able to do that) I remember the first time I seen theses scene, how much I laughed or otherwise was affected. I don't know the name of these episodes, but I do love seeing them over and over again. I also agree that the Diane/Coach seasons were the best, but the Rebecca years had some great moments as well. Anyway here's my list:
When Diane and Sam were having dinner at Frasier's and Lilith's place, they were talking about people in relationships should be completely honest with each other about past flings. Diane was saying she couldn't agree more and how it great it was Lilith knows about how Frasier and Diane used to be engaged so she wouldn't find out at an awkward moment. Whereupon Lilith got up and locked herself in the bathroom (she did this several times in this episode) and Fraiser deadpans "Like now, for instance". When Sam and Councilwoman Janet (i forgot her last name) had the press conference at the bar. Diane just got fired (at Janet's insistence), and she showed up unexpectedly and started making faces at Sam..Sam returns the goofy faces..then Diane sprays him with a water gun..and there were more shenanigan also. Needless to say, the press conference was a disaster! LOL Coach was tutoring Sam for a geography test and was teaching him about Albania in a catching tune.."Albania, Albania, you border on the Adriatic" (Anybody know the entire lyrics?) Rebecca was driving Mr. Drake to the airport in a limo. She was in front, he was in the back. Since this was her last chance, she poured her heart out to him on how much in love she is with him. She turned to face him, and hit her head on the glass shield separating them..."Ow"..then Mr. Drake open the glass and said "Did you say something"...and then his new girlfriend got in the limo. Another Rebecca one: When she was forced to hire a pretty young girl, she suspect she was Mr.Drake's lover. When the young girl showed up for work, Rebecca said "Oh you must be the slut..I mean you here to fill the slot." Later in the episode, Rebecca slugs the girl in a jelous rage, and Mr. Drake shows up and demands to know whats going on and the girl said "She hit me, Daddy!" The very first time Lilith appeared. She and Frasier returned from a blind date. I don't exactly remember what the lines were but they were trading intellectual insults with each other. I remember the first time thinking how funny she is, I'm glad others apparently agreed. When Coach fell down the stairs to get the girl. Sam knew for once he was beaten,. I think this one was from the last season, long after Diane was gone. Carla went to work in another establishment. One of the waitresses there was a tall lankly blond wearing a blue blouse with white apron and went on and on about herself, how many majors she has taken, etc. (No, it wasn't Shelley Long but an incredible resemblance.) Clara screams in horror and runs out of there. Woody singing the Kelly song. "Kelly, Kelly, Kelly..." still cracks me up. When Robin Concord became a fugitive, Rebecca went over the evidence that he was using her to get company information and came to the conclusion "I am too stupid to live!" When Sam proposed to Diane on the boat, Diane made him go through the motions and then said no. Sam then said, "the way I see it, there are two choices, you can jump overboard or I can throw you" She ended up jumping. This is a not a funny one, but I think it was most memorable for me. When the Coach made his daughter see that real beauty is within, she dumped the scumbag she was going to marry saying, "When I do marry, I want to marry someone like my father". Sam clapped Coach on the back. To me, even though it was only like the fourth or fifth show, it was most classic moment in the entire 11 year run. |

I have to agree that even though I was upset that Shelley Long left, Kirstie Alley really grew on me. She was very funny. I love the one when she realizes the kind of person she is (it was one of the early Rebecca eps) and she cried to Sam. She is a terrific actress, and turned out to be a very funny character.
