Conrad Bain Remembered

VERY Sad News to report, as Harvey Levin of TMZ.com is reporting that Conrad Bain, best known as widower Philip Drummond on the hit 1970s sitcom Diffrent Strokes, has died of natural causes at age 89.

Conrad Stafford Bain was born on February 4, 1923 in Lethbridge, Canada.

According to the Diffrent Strokes E! True Hollywood Story episode, Bain began his TV career by acting alongside the late Bea Arthur in the hit early 1970s sitcom Maude.

According to his daughter Jennifer, per TMZ, Bain was a lot like his Diffrent Strokes character, but much more interesting in real life. He was an amazing father.

Conrad Bain is survived by daughter Jennifer and 3 sons and was preceded in death by 2 of his TV family members, Gary Coleman and Dana Plato.
