Default Ok-Cha Wortman

It has been 40 years and 10 days since Ok-Cha Wortman was last seen by her husband Robert and their daughter Stella. Robert met Ok-Cha while being stationed in the Army in South Korea in the 1970's. They married in 1972 and had a daughter, Stella. They lived on an American Air Force base for some time and Ok-Cha worked as an ice cream vendor. Robert was later transferred back to the United States. Before moving, Ok-Cha wanted to visit her family in South Korea. Robert and Stella never saw Ok-Cha again.

Robert's mother received a phone call from a woman they believe was Ok-Cha in 1975, but the woman on the other end could not understand English and hung up. In 1977, Stella received a package postmarked from California. It contained 4 white dressed and a stuffed dog. Stella believes the gifts where from her mother. To my knowledge, no one has heard from Ok-Cha since then.

Is there a picture of Ok-Cha anywhere online?

So, are they saying Ok-Cha never left Korea? I'm a little confused. That might explain why the person making the phone call is believed to be her. She would not have learned english. However, if she did know english and came to the states, it could've been a Korean relative looking for her. ??

I think so. She did not make it back to Robert and Stella by the time he needed to be stationed back over to the United States. I wonder how they could still find her after all this time? Ok-Cha might be in her 60's today or early 70's.

Reason I asked is I know a very sweet Korean lady by that name and she would fall in that age group too. She is the widow of a retired serviceman- no kids that I know of.

A UM video channel on Vimeo just uploaded Ok-Cha's segment a week ago, and it's got several pictures of her.

Any chance that Robert killed her? Doesn't seem likely she would have made no effort & no confirmation of life for that long-over 40 years now. The clothing could have been sent by anybody.

Anyone have any Youtube vids on this case? Whether from UM or not?

I'd like to have my stepmother watch it and get her opinion.. She's Korean.. And I think insight from a Korean might help on this.

Certainly seems to me that she was over being married. Not necessarily being married to Robert.. Just.. Being married.
