"Game of Thrones" Actor Wilko Johnson Diagnosed with Terminal Pancreatic Cancer
The Huffington Post | by Kiki Von Glinow 01/09/2013 "Game of Thrones" actor Wilko Johnson has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. BBC reports that following news of the actor's poor health in the U.K.'s Echo, Johnson's manager confirmed that he is, in fact, battling a terminal illness. "I am very sad to announce that Wilko has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas. He has chosen not to receive any chemotherapy," the statement explains. "He is currently in good spirits, is not yet suffering any physical effects and can expect to enjoy at least another few months of reasonable health and activity." The 65-year-old actor played Ilyn Payne in the first two seasons of the HBO fantasy series and is also a guitarist and songwriter for the English blues group Dr. Feelgood. "Wilko wishes to offer his sincere thanks for all the support he has had over his long career, from those who have worked with him to, above all, those devoted fans and admirers who have attended his live gigs, bought his recordings and generally made his life such an extraordinarily full and eventful experience. Thank you," the statement continues. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0..._2443182.html? |

Very sad. My husband loves this show. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadlier cancers. It killed Patrick Swayze and my husband's best friend of 40 years.

Yes this is very sad. In the last year I dealt with two deaths from pancreatic cancer. One a 59 year old woman in a hobby class of mine and the other someone in my boss's family.
Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal cancers - It gives no warnings or symptoms until its very advanced (usually in stage IV). Also, the symptoms can be indicative of many other ailments. |
