In High Man on the Totem Pole, Gilligan says the Pulu Si Bagoomba line while dressed as the late Kuppa King. Why did one of the headhunters ask, "Why you not speak real Kuppa?" What does this mean? Is it because Gilligan paused during the line and the professor, who was tied up, had to give him a cue? Was it his accent? Did the professor just THINK he knew Kuppa Kai and told Gilligan something totally inane THINKING it meant release the prisoners? Any thoughts?

Then all of a sudden they ask Gilligan a question in english.. I also wonder (and I know it is a comedy) that while the Howells were hostages and the headhunters were obviously sharpening their knives why was there no sense of urgency.. It seemed like they were yukking it up and taking too much time when the best course of action would have been to try to overpower them... I dunno.. |
