When I was a mid-teen was was a huge fan of the songs and skits of the Electric Company. It was fun at the time and had a happy fast-paced feeling to it. Oh well, that was back in the late 70's and this is now.

I remember Jim Boyd on The Electric Company as J. Arthur Crank. He was only a phone voice in the first season but appeared on camera in the role for the rest of the show's run. He was also the voice of the Aniforms character Lorelei the chicken. The character was phased out after the first season.

I liked Jim Boyd a lot, so it saddened me to hear that he had died. Boyd (who was often mistaken for actor/child singer Jimmy Boyd) was an integral part of The Electric Company, but I was disappointed to learn that his acting work outside the show was very limited. He hadn't worked as an actor since 1993, when he made a guest appearance in a Law & Order episode called "Sweeps". Nevertheless, his contribution to TEC will always be appreciated.
Rest in peace, Jim.
