Default Season 5 episodes

I have been watching my season 5 DVDs and can't help but wonder if the episodes Jack to the Rescue, Father of the Bride, and And Baby Makes Four may have actually been Chrissy stories changed to Cindy. Any thoughts on this? I could have seen Jack getting Chrissy fired, the rich guy being obsessed with marrying Chrissy, though Chrissy being mistaken for being pregnant (which was already a misunderstanding in Stanley's Hotline) may have been a stretch. Also I just realized this similarity: Janet was missing from an episode where Roper thought Chrissy was pregnant and Chrissy was missing (save for the tag) in the episode where Janet and Jack thought Cindy was pregnant.

The 1st 5 eps of season 5 are not fun eps to watch because you can see the frustration on the set. It didn't start wearing off until Cindy arrived

It seems everyone here has picked up on this but me. I can't really tell if there is tension or not in these episodes. I know that I think Upstairs, Downstairs is a hilarious episode and that is the first one from season 5 and it features Chrissy so...

I don't think it started until after her last episode which was A Hundred Dollars for what?

The next 3 eps after that are not fun to watch

I actually didn't pick up on this either. So you are not the only one. Had I not known about the behind-the-scenes drama/feud ahead of time, I never would've guessed/noticed/known there was any problem or tension.

I think the episode without a third roommate are my least favorite.

It's noticeable in all the eps before Cindy.

John Ritter and Joyce Dewitt looks frustrated in these eps and does not do a good job of hiding it

A Hundred Dollars for What
Downhill Chaser
A Crowded Romance
Room at the Bottom

After Chrissy's Cousin, you can see that they both start to look like their regular again

But Suzanne wasn't in Downhill Chaser or A Crowded Romance or Room at the Bottom. At least she wasn't on screen with them. Why would they be frustrated then and not when they were actually on camera with Suzanne?

Because she was not there and they had to memorize her lines along with their lines. So you can see they were less frustrated as the season went on because someone took her place

I'll watch again and see if I can sense something. Maybe I just don't pay much attention to those episodes because I'm not very fond of them. Like I said, there was something missing without that third roommate.

It's the most noticeable in the episode...."Downhill Chaser"

Downhill Chaser is one of my favorite episodes... with the fake leg cast-classic.

But TV Fact Fan you are correct the tension is there but only in the episodes without Chrissy or Cindy. The episodes with Chrissy in season 5 don't seem to have tension as PIP pointed out, at least none that I can sense.

Season 4 was always known as the best season for TC. It was certainly the highest rated but I wonder if Suzanne had stayed on for season 5 if the show would have surpassed season 4 ratings.

Yeah it's mainly in the eps between Chrissy's last episode and Cindy's first episode

I honestly don't see it. I think they played it off pretty well. The only awkward one might be A Hundred Dollars A What. Otherwise I'm curious if you have any examples of ~awkward behavior. Downhill Chaser is actually one of my favorites, too. I never felt like there was anything weird about it?
