Does anybody remember these?
I remember up through kindergarten watching reruns in the mornings on weekdays. For example, I remember when NBC used to air Family Ties five days a week. ABC would air Who's The Boss and Growing Pains in the morning, as well as Webster. Am I the only one who remembers this? Also, my NBC affiliate reran Full House at 10:00 am everyday from June-August 1991, before it officially went into syndication in September. From there, the reruns aired on my local ABC affiliate. I found the reruns on my NBC affiliate quite odd, since there really didn't seem to be any logic to them. They would only air episodes from the third and fourth seasons, and they'd insert artificial commercial breaks as well. I should also point out that at this point, ABC was still airing summer reruns of the fourth season. |

You know what? My local NBC affilaiate would not air the show. The NBC promo aired for the show with Michelle saying "Hit it" I called and asked and the receptionist said "It's not on our schedule at the time". That would frustrate me because my local NBC affiliate would be notorius for airing certain NBC shows.
Saturday Mornings, shows like Lazertag and Foufur and I'm Telling would air in the 12-12:30 timeslot but me network would not air them.. I'll tell you how desparate I was, I would call my Grandmother in NYC and ask her to hold the phone up to the TV on channel 4 and I would listen to Foufur when it was moved to 12pm. As for Full House, It was funny how NBC did air the 4th season weekdays and the ABC network was still airing the epsodes before the new fall season. I do remember watching Webster weekdays at 11:30am in 1986 on 1 of my 2 ABC affiliated channels. The other one did not air the show, they aired some talk show instead. Then Who's the Boss started at 11 in June of 1987 then Webster was replaced with Mr. Belvedere for a week in my area, then the affiliate replaced it with something else. 227 didn't start runnign weekdays in my area untill March 1990 and I found out that NBC started airing this back in September 1989 weekdays. When I was little, I used to try to fool my brothers into thinking that A Different World aired weekdays at 11:30 by putting in recorded tapes and Hiding the PLAY option on the VCR. LOL. Well I have said a mouthful! |

I remember a lot of them. They've gone out of style recently because producers feel that extra runs on the network devalue a show when it goes into syndication. Sometimes, networks aired reruns in the afternoons, too. Here are the other ones that I remember (or have read about):
CBS: I Love Lucy The Lucy Show Here's Lucy M*A*S*H All in the Family Alice One Day at a Time The Jeffersons ABC: The Brady Bunch Happy Days Laverne & Shirley Three's Company Too Close for Comfort Angie The Love Boat (Our local affiliate in Boston would generally not air the ABC reruns at 11:00 am, but one of the independent stations would usually pick them up.) NBC: Chico & the Man CHiPs |

The thing is, I never saw the show promoted, and this was long before the networks started using those annoying "bugs," so I had no way of knowing if it was network or not. Thanks for the info. |

I remember when NBC picked up the "Full House" reruns, several newspapers commented that it was one of the very few times a network aired reruns of a show that was still airing in first-run on another network.

Saved by the Bell and California Dreams did. SBTB would air weekdays (including first run episodes) while NBC was airing the first run episodes. I always thought both versions syndicated and First Run being aired at the same time was a waste.
