Default Wow, I never knew Theo made a reference to Cockroach in season 8

The episode when Clair has menopause, I don't know it this was season 7 or 8 but he mentioned something about cockroach's mother and how she was acting when she had menopause

I watched this show for years and never realized Theo made a reference to coackroach 5 years after he left the show

I guess I never noticed that either.
It just goes to show you that Coackroach lives on in all of our hearts!!

I think out of all of Theo's friends, I liked Cockroach the best. Denny and the others fine, I just preferred Cockroach.

Okay, don't know how factual this is, but I just found this on a wiki website. It's obviously questionable because it says a citation is needed, but thought I'd post it anway:

When Theo got tickets to "Dance Mania" (a "Soul Train"-like television dance show), and only one of them was allowed into the studio, Theo let Cockroach have the spot, but did not feel good about it when he saw Cockroach on TV, and as the center of their friends' attention the next day at school. After this particular episode, Carl Anthony Payne II, the actor who played Cockroach was fired from the show after supposedly refusing to cut his hair at Bill Cosby's request.[citation needed] Cockroach was written out of the series and rarely mentioned after this episode.

I wonder how accurate this is?

Wasn't it "only" three or four years?

I know I heard something somewhere about Carl getting fired by Mr. Cosby for refusing to get a haircut. Someplace besides that site. I think maybe it was mentioned on the E! True Hollywood Story.

The dance mania episode was in 87 and that episode when he made reference to him was in 1992

Nah, Solomon. Furiena is right. It is three years. Theo made that reference to Vanessa and Pam in the fall of 1990, three years after that Dancemania episode.

Just watched The Dance Mania episode on TVLand. I guess Cockroach's appearance on Dance Mania was enough to cause a permanent rift in their friendship!!
