Default Would Dolly Parton make a good Host for Family Feud?

back in 1998 or 99 there was rumor that famous country singer Dolly Parton was going to be selected as the new host of Family Feud in
syndication...unfortunately for her anyways, the job went to Louie Anderson and, well...you know the rest. but let's just imagine back in in the mid-to-late 90's if Dolly Parton was choosen to be the "first" female host of "Feud" would you enjoy her hosting skills or would you think that she would be just another annoying background noise? in other words....

would Dolly Parton make a good host for Family Feud?
(if she had gotten the job of course.)
Yes or No

so as usual vote, comment, and until then Game Show Fans
my "Survey Says"...Later!

Dolly can do just about anything - I think she's one of the smartest women alive. Just listen to some of her witty remarks and zingers. Singer, PROLIFIC songwriter, actress, businesswoman, comedienne - she can do it all with aplomb.

So yes, she could do a kick-a** job as a FF host, but it would be a little beneath her depth of talents IMO. My preference would be to see her as a guest host.

but also if she was the host maybe her set and theme song would be still be based on the Dawson/Combs era right?

also according to you OH Nuts! since the gig would be *ahem* "beneath her talents" what other "female" celebrities in your mind could you see doing the "Feud" hosting gig?

It will never happen, but I would definitely be interested in seeing her host, more than Steve Harvey.

oh and trust me catsrule, I already know about her not hosting the "Feud" is more of a "Fantasy" than a "Reality". also I so totally agree with you on Steve Harvey. I hate him almost just as much as you do and just like I said from the beginning he is an overated, washed-up hack, who cares more about himself than the show, the families, and the 30-year old format itself.

as a matter of fact catsrule, if there was a Family Feud circle of Hell in real
life, Steve Harvey will be condemned to it for all eternity well acttually I already have in my life.

I think Dolly could do it because she's so quick witted, but I can't imagine her signing up for the gig. At least if she were on, the show would get some of it's wholesomeness back. I hate the bedroom humor.

Oh she'd be a blast, cracking everyone up. But she is such a VAST talent I think she'd overpower the show; not meaning too of course. It's just her talent is a wonderful torrent spurting forth every which way - it would just happen.

Off the top of my head Vicki Lawrence might be a fun pick. I agree with you about (ugh!) Steve Harvey.

Richard Dawson was the best host so far, IMO, may he rest in peace.

I don't think so...but she'd do better than some hosts.

yeah old school FTW. I think that her last game show apperance as a guest would be H2 Hollywood Squares from I think 2003.

but then again I'm not quite sure about the year though.

also thank you for agreeing with me on the so-called "Failabration of Gospel" as host of a once great creation from the brilliant mind of Mark Goodson (R.I.P) I Appreciated very much thank you.

I doubt that Dolly would go "Mouth to Mouth" like Richard Dude111 LOL!!!

And I know you folks may not agree with what I have to say, let alone suffer from a major huge backlash from you guys.

But I think that Harvey on Family Filth (which I never cared to watch for anyway since departing in 2010) is a thuggish, gangsta wannabe pimp daddy with a self-absorbed, selfish, stuck-up, annoying, arrogant and cocky huge ego that I just can't stand to look at or stomach in.

You sound like you don’t care for him! :P

I agree 100%. And ya know what? Having a game show run SIX EPISODES a day on one of our independent channels in Miami—can you say overkill?

They tape a WHOLE SEASON in Atlanta in a matter of days (July?)….Just to give time for Steve to do anything and everything else.

Steve claims to be Christian. I think of what my former Sunday School teacher once said about ppl like that: “If you are a Christian, and live like that, don’t tell others you are. It makes it bad for the rest of us.”
