Default Little Miss Panasoffkee update

A fan of my Unsolved Mysteries page posted the following information about her case:

"This case was presented recently on a Greek TV show investigating missing persons cases. A woman called and said she identified the Jane Doe as a former classmate and friend. They were attending a prep school for legal migrants, located in Kifisia (suburb in Athens, Greece), teaching home economics and preparing the students to be sent off to the USA and Australia with a 2 year contract for work. This school was funded by the International Organization for Migration. The woman that called said that her classmate was called Konstantina and had a brother serving in the Navy near Lavrio. They lost contact when the caller was sent to Australia and Konstantina was sent to the USA for work."

Do you have any connections that would allow you to keep up with whether the lead was followed up on? This one of the cases I have always wanted to see solved.

I'm guessing the person who posted this on my page does, he is always finding information about her case.

It looks to be that way (almost). The next step would be to find surviving relatives of "Konstantina" and compare DNA from her family to the Jane Doe.

I would love to find out if the woman's relatives in Greece have been put in touch with FL authorities handling the case.

I'll keep everyone up to date once I get more information from sources associated with the case.

I went to the Websleuths thread about Little Miss Panasoffkee and found this link to her profile on the website for "Tunnel", the Greek TV show which featured the case (it looks like this page has gone through Google translate, so please excuse the grammatical and spelling errors).

This link actually features a photo of Konstantina, the girl believed to be Little Miss P and you can definitely see a resemblance:

Overall, this is potentially fantastic news! When I initially heard the theory that Little Miss P was from another country, it make a whole lot of sense to me and would explain why she hasn't been claimed all this time. Obviously, the family and friends of a Greek girl who went missing way back in 1971wouldn't have had the resources to look into UID Jane Does in Florida.

Picture is very similar.

Hopefully there are some records from this training program that can help identify her, since it sounds like it was legit. Also, this will help with a timeline and they can look at airline records from around the time she was flying to the U.S. to find her identity.

Very interesting and hopefully a resolution to the case.

Didn't the UM segment say that Little Miss Panasoffkee had a child as well?

Yes, when I first heard the news that Little Miss P might have hailed from Greece, I started to formulate a theory that maybe she decided to flee the country after an unplanned pregnancy. I even started to speculate if she might have fled with the man who got her pregnant, but when things didn't work out between them, she was murdered.

Thus far, there doesn't seem to be anything in Konstantina's background that suggests she ever gave birth to a child and it seems like she was legally emigrating to the U.S. for work reasons. However, I just remembered that Little Miss P also had that very specific "Watson Jones" surgical technique on her ankle. If they can confirm that Konstantina had that ankle surgery at some point in her life, that would be a pretty convincing confirmation that her and Little Miss Panasoffkee are one and the same.
