Update: Pulled "Family Guy" Episode Will Air This Sunday
Fox Pulls "Family Guy" and "American Dad" in Wake of School Shooting
12/14/2012 by Kimberly Nordyke Fox has quietly replaced Sunday's all-new episodes of "Family Guy" and "American Dad" with repeats. A network source indicated that the change was made to avoid airing any potentially sensitive content in light of Friday's elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn., which has now reportedly left 28 people dead (including 20 children). The episodes -- "Family Guy's" 'Jesus, Mary and Joseph!' and "American Dad's" "Minstrel Krampus" -- will be replaced with, respectively, repeats of 'Grumpy Old Man' at 9 p.m. and 'Wheels & The Legman and The Case of Grandpa's Key' at 9:30 p.m. In addition, the 7 p.m. repeat of "The Cleveland Show" titled 'Die Semi-Hard' has been replaced by 'Menace II Secret Society', another repeat. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...merican-403011 |

Good move by Fox. I read that ads for the movie "Jack Treacher" were also pulled. However, ads for "Django Unchained" showing racial shootings galore aired in prime time for opening on Christmas Day. Either the studio or the network (I saw on NBC) should have suggested pulling those ads. Seeing countless shootings in a short commercial was not a good idea. Very sickening, and one aired right after Obama's speech on NBC. Just poor judgement. I hope "Django" tanks.

UPDATE: Pulled "Family Guy" Episode To Air on Sunday
by NELLIE ANDREEVA Monday December 17, 2012 The first of the programs pulled by the networks in the immediate aftermath of the tragic Friday school shooting in Connecticut has been rescheduled. The original "Family Guy" episode, which was slated to run last Sunday, will air this coming Sunday. Last Friday, Fox opted to preempt both "Family Guy" and "American Dad". I hear the holiday-themed edition of "Family Guy" does not contain violence but, in a typical "Family Guy" non-PC fashion, pokes fun at religion, which was deemed inappropriately for last weekend. http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/upda...haven-on-hold/ |
