Default Five Mysteries of season 6

Why did Florida have a job when she returned but not J.J?

Why didn't we see J.J's friends ever again?

Why was there no more reference to Themla's education?

Why wasn't Thelma working?

Why no reference to Penny's school or what grade she was in atleast once?

I can answer the second question. The "Awesome Foursome" who were J.J.'s friends were slated to make a couple more appearences on Good Times. But the actor who played "Cool Breeze" had a drug problem. So he was taken off the show. They became "The Gleasome Threesome" which didn't sound as cool as "The Awesome Foursome" and were taken off the show. Shame I thought they could have atleast brought Poppo back!

Thelma was working, she was working with Wilona at the Boutique.

And I think that once Thelma and Keith got married and he hurt his leg, Thelma probably quit school and started to work at the Boutique with Wilona, to help support herself and Keith.

1) In Season 5 with NO PARENTS, J.J. being the main man of the house had a great job in the advertising agency and was making enough to help out the household. But when Florida came back, the creators call themselves "Getting things back to normal" by ditching J.J.'s job and having Florida retain the head provider role (the bus driver job). What the heck was that about? But J.J. didn't stay down for long. He did do those art lessons which got him noticed by the comic book company and him landing a job at the series finale.

2) Again, a Season 5 thing. As a part of J.J. "mellowing out and growing up" in season 6, they phased out the Gleesome Threesome thing (which was great for 5 minutes).

3 & 4) By this time, Thelma was out of school and she got married to Keith and became a housewife but also worked in the boutique with Willona.

5) They never really gave Penny a chance to develop her character after the Child Abuse storyline, which was why some people thought that she was considered a non-essential.

Just my opinions.

House Hunting. And there was another episode where she mentions something about working more hours.
