I still live in the LA County. In this post, please omit retro-only networks and programmings, like ME-TV, Antenna TV channel, and Nick@Nite. You can use general cable if you may, but I'm using local stations in this original post.
As far as I recall, Full House and Family Matters were hit syndicates in KTLA-TV (Ch. 5) in the 90s and early '00s. Then they were pulled out in favor of other first-run syndicates. The Brady Bunch and Little House on the Prairie ran forever since they went off the network until the mid- or early-'00s. Roseanne and The Cosby Show were on KCOP-TV. But that was during the '90s. I don't know how they were gone, but they were gone in either '90s or '00s. Step by Step didn't do well in KCOP, so it evaporated quickly. Frasier moved from KCOP to concurrently KDOC (afternoon) and KCBS (late night) during late '00s. I Love Lucy still runs forever in KTTV and (recently) KCOP. The Golden Girls was in KCAL (Ch. 9) until it went exclusive in Lifetime in mid-'90s. Bewitched and I Dreamed of Jeannie were on afternoons in KCAL on-off until early- or mid-'00s. Speaking of Bewitched, it didn't do well last year in KCOP. Still Standing didn't do well in KTTV, so it went... poof. Amazingly, Friends is still on KTLA, Seinfeld is on two local channels, and Everybody Loves Raymond moved from KTLA to KCOP some time ago. Cheers was on around ten years in KTLA until other shows shoved in, like Seinfeld and Friends. Three's Company and Family Ties were on KTTV. A Different World was doing all right on weekends (or weekdays during '90s?) on KTTV on-off (maybe) until late or mid-'00s(?). Married with Children was still standing on KTTV. Then somehow in late-'00s or early this decade, it moved to KDOC. The Simpsons is still on KTTV, but... I don't feel like talking about it very much. I repeat, do not include programming from retro-only networks, like METV, Nick@Nite, TV Land (even with original programming), or Antenna TV. KDOC has many old shows in the past ever since, so it may or may not be retro-only, but it's a station, not a network. |
