Default Name your 3 Best and Worst Channesl of 2012 and why

It's that time of year of folks as we head toward the end of the year just curious to see what channels impressed and turned off people the most in 2012

I will start with the Top 3

1. Antenna TV............continues to get better and added Benson and now Different Strokes

2. Nick@Nite..........still has a solid lineup after 11pm during the week and weekends.

3. TV One.................one of the only networks that wants to air sitcoms on a friday night

The worst 3

1. Hallmark Channel........Removed two shows after I became a fan which was bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore

2. Hub-TV....................reduced the airings of Happy days and Mork and Mindy

3. Me-TV..................airs Bob Newhart at a bad time, got rid of Gomer Pyle and the Honeymooners.

Wonder will my list stay the same in 2013?

My 3 worst are all TVLand. Once I loved the channel now I detest it. I waited years to get it on my cable, now I wish they remove it. On second thought, make MTV my 3rd worse until Beavis comes back.

TV Land made 2 moves that irritated me but then made 2 more moves to pull me back in by

Adding back Three's Company on Saturdays and the Cosby Show LOL

Best; LSN "Tv the way it used to be, only better!"

Worst. All other networks.

Most people wouldn't consider primetime a bad time, quite the opposite.

It's a good slot for the summer time but not for September to June since I watch sports during the week

I watch all my shows from 7pm to 9pm and 12am to 2am

The best channel of 2012 is easily Antenna TV. I didn't have it in 2011, they have a lot of quality shows! Dragnet, Adam-12, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, WKRP, Barney Miller, Benson, Bachelor Father, Jack Benny, The Partridge Family, Leave it to Beaver, plus Different Strokes is coming in January. I'm hoping Benson gets Sundays at 9PM with WKRP moving to weekdays. I'll put GSN at #2, they've shown a lot of love to the Dick Clark Pyramids this year. Plus The American Bible Challenge is a good original, kudos to them not being afraid of trying a faith-based game show. And it's their highest rated show ever. A tie for #3 would be GMC and Reelz. GMC is now the place for new episodes of Heartland, plus Touched by an Angel, The Waltons, 7th Heaven, and Family Ties (I would put Family Ties where Judging Amy or 227 currently airs). Wings will likely be my most watched show this year, and 100% of those episodes have aired on Reelz. They also air Coach and Cheers, and had 3rd Rock from the Sun earlier in the year.
As for the worst, one channel I watched a lot in 2011 has become practically useless to me in 2012. When Ovation aired Fame weeknights at 6:00 and 7:00 I had that station on a lot, not since they removed it. Another channel I watch a lot less is INSP. They're not exactly the worst, there's several channels that are worse. But I don't like how they're becoming Encore Western 2. A year ago they had a great lineup of dramas from 5-10: Our House, Highway to Heaven, Wind at My Back, and 2 episodes of The Waltons. Now of those shows only The Waltons remains. The Hub was great in June and July with their 8-10 marathons of Mork and Mindy, Happy Days, The Facts of Life, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, with The Wonder Years weeknights at 10:00 and 10:30. They've gotten a lot worse since then but will still be relevant to me as long as they keep airing the Facts of Life Wednesday marathons.
The channel I want most is Me-TV, there's several channels I've never watched that I would gladly trade for it.

The Best channels of 2012. Can I include ABC, FOX etc., sports channels or are these cable channels only?

1) Antenna TV-Soap, Benson, Father knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, All in the Family. Enough said. They do marathons, at least "marathon gimmicks" right.

2)TBS- I guess I will put this number two even though I dont watch nearly enough of it. Conan, Friends and Seinfeld will do it for me.

3)ME-TV-Even though I have been a little critical of ME-TV in the past, I put them third for imagination. How about "The Sunday Showcase?" That has been very good. Nice to see someone thinking out of the box and give you classic programming and not 4 hrs. of Cosby Show or Everybody Loves Raymond. Which leads me too...

The Worst

1)TV Land- Ironcially, I watch more TV Land then I do TBS, Antenna TV and ME-TV combined. My problem is presentation. Going to commericals at the wrong times. Just showing endless episodes of the same shows etc. Basically everything that has already been mentioned on here. Oh and if you want another example that hasnt been used, just check last night. They had there "Merrython" which consisted of Christmas episodes of only 3 shows. Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens and That 70s Show. Pathetic.

2) Hallmark Channel-See number 1. I will add they overkill on holiday movies and whatnot. Not neccessary to show the movies all the time and not show anything else. Plus, they move there lineups all around. Hopefully that changes in 2013

3) The Hub-The fact they got rid of Happy Days, Wonder Years, Laverne and Shirley and Doogie Howser. In a way you wouldnt mind if they got rid of the shows and replaced them with iconic shows. But you replace them with Sliders? Lois and Clark? What the hell is that about? To be fair, they do have ALF and Facts of Life but its not enough. Also, thats now but would it shock you if ALF and Facts of Life are gone from the Hub as well?

TBS should have been my number 3 instead of TV Land since I know I watch these shows on TBS every week

Btw, I think TV Guide Network could be added to the best channels list. They have Designing Women, Dharma and Greg, Who's the Boss?. They also have very good specials like they do like about A Christmas Story, 25 Holiday Moments. The Holiday Moments is ON Demand right now even though its suppose to air on Monday.

Worst channel I can add is MTV2. I try to watch Saved by the Bell and Boy Meets World on MTV2 and they edit it out. They go to commericals at the wrong time as well.

Best:

1. Me-TV - Because they are what TV Land used to be. Good, classic TV 24/7/365 (well, except for the government-mandated E/I shows, but let's not talk about that). And with them soon adding Bewitched and Jeannie, they will likely repeat at #1 in 2013.

2. GSN - They went back-to-basics pretty much and showed fans of classic game shows some love by bringing back Password Plus, Super Password and Press Your Luck, and airing tons of Pyramid (old and new).

3. Reelz - Simply for adding Wings to their lineup (one of my all-time favorite shows), they make #3.

Worst:

1. TV Land - Need I say more? LOL. It's been a shell of it's former self for years.

2. Hallmark - Their erratic, bi-polar scheduling didn't change in 2012. I'm amazed that any show could gain any traction in ratings when they move or pull a show within days if it doesn't IMMEDIATELY get the ratings they expected.
And they hack their shows to bits.

3. TeenNick - Their "The 90's Are All That" block was awesome for 90's kids like me who grew up with Nickelodeon up until early this year. Until then at least they added different shows once in a while. Since then it's been the exact same shows over and over. One can take only so much of All That or Kenan & Kel (shows I wasn't a big fan of even then) before they get sick of them. I really hope they dig deeper into the vault in 2013.
