Default Sitcoms Where Characters Land In Court

It seems with any long running sit-com, a character or characters end up in court for one reason or another, at some point.

I Love Lucy - The Ricardos and The Mertzes end up in the courtroom over a television set.

There was an episode of The Brady Bunch where they get sued after they are in a fender-bender.

I recall an episode of The Partridge Family in which they got sued as well.

on Happy Days the Fonz and Howard Cunningham ended up in court twice - once on the jury and once as plaintiffs against each other when the roof over the garage collapsed either due to the weight of Fonzie's bird house, or the combination of snow and the state of poor repair that Howard had let it get to.

also on Happy Days, Marion had to go to court after her car smashed through the wall at Arnold's - she couldn't pay the fine so she opted to go to jail.

The Beverly Hillbillies - The Clampetts go to court when a couple fakes injuries supposedly caused by them, when the old truck comes into contact with their car. And in a later episode, Mr. Drysdale lands in court in Hooterville after driving the truck with a drunken bear...!

The Dick Van Dyke Show - In one episode, the Petries take a pillow manufacturer to court. In another, Rob is on jury duty.

on Too Close for Comfort , Henry (Ted Knight) is on the jury and falls asleep during the middle of testimony - when the jury is passing around a note as evidence of what the defendant said or did to the victim Henry thinks its from the person on the jury next to him, hijinks ensue.

That Sanford episode is one of my top 10 favorite episodes of any sitcom ever.

On Petticoat Junction, Kate Bradley has jury duty, and Uncle Joe slips a paper note into her hamburger...! In another episode, the Shady Rest Hotel becomes the temporary home to a big group jurors, all of whom enjoy the great food there.
