Mexican-American singer Jenny Rivera died Sunday in a plane crash in Mexico that left no survivors, HuffPost Voces reports.

Minutes after taking off from the northern city of Monterrey on its way to Toluca, the plane disappeared.

I got my first Jenni Rivera album mainly because she did a cool cover of I Will Survive and I was surprised that she could sing very well in English and then I got two more Jenni Rivera albums and was amazed at her talent. I think Jenni Rivera's death is a hoax as a way to scare fans of her music to get less people to attend her concerts because according to my mom Jenni Rivera was possibly not on the plane and might be still alive and is considered to be the Amelia Earhart of the Spanish language music world. Next to Selena I consider Jenni Rivera to be the second popular music star in the Spanish language music scene
