Eunice and NEW Mama? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just wish Eunice had made an appearance on the syndicated episode at least ONCE.

I just wonder how Eunice would interact with the NEW happier, brighter Mama of the later years?

Do you think they would still fight? Not as much, or more or what?

Mama was happier BECAUSE she didn't have to deal with Eunice!

Eunice did phone a couple of times and she exasperated Mama as usual!

I don't really agree with THAT.

I know in Mama's Family they portrayed Eunice more as the villain and Mama as the "good guy", BUT in the original Family Sketches from the Carol Burnett Show it was quite the opposite.

Mama was an outright monster in those sketches, and Eunice always tried to please her but it was never appreciated. I always felt sorry for Eunici in those.

I think younger ppl who have only seen Eunice in a hand full of Mama's Family episodes and have never seen the Carol Burnett Show get the wrong idea, b/c Mama's Family really softens Mama up from what she started as.

Wasn't Eunice on the first network season. I remember a episode where Mama got conked with a pot and the gals had ideas of what happened.

I think she was in a total of six episodes spanning the first two seasons. Eunice and Ed were shuttled off to Florida for the syndicated series, after Carol Burnett and Joe Hamilton had gone through a pretty acrimonious divorce.
