Default I can see why James was upset about Florida going back to school

Because when Florida came home with the news, she never showed any interest in why James was so excited. It was all about her and night school and every time James mentioned something about his new job Florida would bring up her good news again.

So she basically never gave him a chance to express his happiness and I can understand why he wasn't all that thrilled about her going to school.

One of the most selfish moments of Florida during the entire series

Florida did act selfish in that episode. Her news was good for her, but James' news was more important since he was the soul bread winner for the family. I hated the way she kept trying to cut off James. She didn't consider his feelings at all.

I know as soon as he started to talk about the job she would bring her the school things again lol

I was like..."Damm let the man tell his good news"

Florida was all about Florida in that episode. James' news was meant to benefit the whole family. James was thinking of his kids and his wife. Florida was only concerned with her own selfish needs.

Yes, she was a real shrew in that episode.

Don't know why this scene made me laugh so hard, I guess because it was 3am in the morning

Florida: "James I should have talked it over with you first but i'm going to ask you now. I want to go back to school is that alright you?

James: "NO"

LMAO

I didn't like Florida at all in this episode. It also reminds me of another episode I didn't like her in....the one where she slaps Michael in the face...when she starts going to those women's meetings with Wilona.

Oh yeah when she was in a bad mood

I think that happened twice, season 2 and season 4

He wasn't upset because Flroida kept cutting him off or wouldn't let him tell her about his good news. He's ego and pride took over his mind set because the thought that his wife becoming more educated than him pissed him off. That is why when Florida was studying his bad attitude became worse.

I believe if she had showed interest in his good news he would have been more openminded about it when she first told him about it

No he wouldn't, because the next day he was still upset.

because she stole his moment. if she had waited until the next day to mention it then I don't think it would have been a issue.

Every time he tried to tell her about the new job she kept interrupting him so she can talk about why she was happy

A person does not stay mad at their spouse for that length of time just because their wife/husband keeps interrupting them while trying to share good news. James even went to the bar and had a conversation with his friend about Florida going back to school. James was just insecure in the fact that Florida was trying to better herself.

I think she would have sounded a lot better if she said

"Oh james that is wonderful news, we both had a good day. I will tell you about my day later but tell me more about this new job of yours??

There is no reason why Florida couldn't have waited until the next day to tell James about her desire to go back to school. She should have let James have his moment of good fortune about his job. It was important to him and important to the whole family. Florida's news was only important to her. I still say she was being selfish.
