Default Two Lost Love Cases

I cannot remember the names of these people in the segments for the life of me!

1) A woman takes in a young boy and girl as foster children. Because of the atmosphere the kids had lived in before, the boy was somewhat violent and even once held his sister's head under the water in the paddling pool. This is the same segment where the kids would go into the kitchen at night and sneak food by climbing onto chairs, just in case they were not fed enough. The children were separated for the girl's safety and both she and the foster mother were searching for him in the segment.

2) A teenage girl and boy break up. She shows up one day while he's with his friends and confesses to being pregnant. The baby is put up for adoption but the boy and girl end up getting married YEARS later and now want to find their child.

Anyone remember these cases and if they were solved?

I remember both segments but I can't remember names from either.

The second case was solved. The parents did find their daughter and they had a heartwarming reunion on camera.

To my knowledge, the first case was never solved. The brother was never located as of several years ago.

The kids were fed plenty, but they did that because they had gone hungry before they were taken in. This is not uncommon. The last dog we adopted, his previous owner abandoned him out in the cold, and the dog starved as well. When he got him, he was pretty thin. We fed him well, starting with three times a day, plus treats. He got up to a comfortable weight. That didn't stop him from eating every crumb in sight, snagging waffles on counters we thought were too high for him to reach, getting into the trash, etc. That dog got his mitts on every bit of food that it was possible for him to get.

I took in a stray cat in January and she was the same way for a month or so. She would eat ANYTHING and I even had to take her to the animal hospital because she had a bad case of pica and swallowed a hair tie. Thankfully she is healthy now and does not overeat anymore. I can see why and human or animal would overeat or horde food after going hungry for so long.

I remember the second one, but not the first. Is that one on the wiki or does anyone have the name of the people involved?

I searched the UM wikia and came up with these cases. Nothing really sounds familiar to the story of case #1 that you're looking for but I thought it was at least worth a try:

Sorry TracyLynn, but it was none of those. Thank you for the exhaustive list. It was definitely on UM and wiseguy seems to remember it as well I'll find it eventually.

I remember it as well. I'm almost positive it aired around 1990/91, that was when watching UM as a little kid would leave me too scared to have a good night's sleep. I remember the kids sneaking food at night, the brother holding the sister's head under water in the wading pool, and the search starting when the sister was a teen and she wanted the brother to attend her high school graduation.

I don't recall seeing this case very often during all those years when the show was rerun on Lifetime but it aired on NBC when UM was at the height of it's popularity. I just wish I wasn't drawing a blank on the names of the siblings. I'm sure crystaldawn might remember.

Just chiming in that I remember this case as well, but few details. I seem to recall that it was a heartwrenching decision to separate the children, but that the boy needed a higher level of care. The siblings loved each other, the foster parents loved them, the boy just needed more help than they could offer and they did what they thought was best for both of them.

I agree. This is the one sibling separation on UM that actually made sense for the safety of the sister and for the boy's higher care. He definitely loved her but IIRC the behavioral issues just put them both at risk and he needed individual care/focus. It's just really too bad that they still haven't been able to find each other all these years later.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I just watched this case and was looking around for any updates. The case is of Robert "Bobby" Brown and it was his twin sister Martha who was looking for him.

http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Robert_Brown

Interestingly, Martha was able to find Bobby's driver's license and his last known address, which was a homeless shelter. However, the shelter reported that Bobby had left in 1987 (five years before the segment aired).

As far as I know, Bobby has never been found. However, I did find that he was actually arrested in Texas in 1989:

He apparently listed another homeless shelter as his address then. Other than that, I can't find anything about him or even Martha online.

Thanks. That case was particularly touching. Just as the boy was led away, he ran back and gave his sister a clown suit which was one of his few possessions. Years later she still had it.

Thanks for posting! I actually did figure out the segment name in the years since starting the thread, but I'm glad you posted in here so everyone can see the answer.

Very sad to see he has never been found.
