Default Just saw the floor plan of the Addams' house

I just bought the book Fantasy Floor Plans, and was looking at the Addams' house and it is interesting to look at but I think rather inaccurate.

For one thing it has the playroom as being on the FIRST FLOOR! I always thought the play room was below, like in the basement, but in this it had it as being right next to the kitchen!

It had Fester's lab and the dungeon being downstairs in the basement part.

But I'm wondering, I know sometimes they go into other rooms that LOOK like the play room but have slightly different furnishings, like they went into one where they were using it as a JUNK room when they were actioning things off, then Fester works in one sometimes.

I wonder if all those are supposed to be the same room or different rooms.

And strangely it had Mama living outside the mansion in her own cottage, and has grandma Frump and Ophilia's rooms listed in the mansion.

Also it had the hallway that's behind the fireplace as being behind the staircase.

I'm just wondering if they are drawing it the way it would HAVE to be in real life, b/c maybe the TV set is impossible to design.

I have the book as well and the blueprint is interesting but doesn't match the house painting at all. I wish they had used the actual house as The Munsters used their facade. It's a more interesting design than the painting turned out to be.

The only thing I could think of us, since on TV it was a set it might be impossible in some ways to build an actual HOUSE like that, so maybe the floor plan was how it would have to be IF it were a real house, getting it as close as they could.

Like I think it would be pretty well impossible to build a house like the Brady Bunch's.

I tried to build a Sims 3 house with an interior that matched the exterior on the show and it is not possible. I think the interior set could have matched the actual Chester Place house (they used in the first episode) because it was bigger than the painting. But there's still no good shots of the whole Chester Place house.

Also I found it funny this mansion had NO specific dinning room. It had the dining area listed as being like where the train sets were and they DID eat in that room a lot, but they usually refered to it was the DEN.

You'd think a mansion like this would have had a huge formal dinningroom SPECIFICALLY for dinning.

Eek

I have been in Victorian mansions similar to the Addams' house and they tended to have a LOT of rooms, servant's quarters and ante-rooms etc. and most of the family rooms are huge. This one historic house I visited even had secret passageways and false bookcases, there was a lot going on architecturally back then, and a millionaire like Gomez would for sure have it all. I would like to check out this book of floor plans. do they have Sanford and Son in there? I was always curious about the rest of Fred's house and property besides his front room and kitchen.

I ordered it off Ebay, and no sadly it doesn't have Sanford and Son's house I was also dissapointed, b/c I wanted to see that one too. B/c according to one episode I get the impression than they had a HUGE upstairs. B/c in the earthquake episode when Fred is showing the house to some buyers, we hear him open and close at least 7 or 8 doors as he calls out rooms, *that I can't understand* BUT It sounds like I hear him say SUNROOM! lol

It has the Clampette mansion though which was interesting.

But it's like I said it's a bit inaccurate, like it has Morticia's mother and and Ophelia having rooms in the mansion, and Mama as living in a cottage out back. And it has an extra doorway in the living room. AND the play room as being on the 1st floor next to the kitchen, which I thought was the biggest goof.
