Oh No Some Of These Commercials on TV Land Kill the Mood

I was watching some of the "I Love Lucy" TV Land marathon with my father early this afternoon and then a commercial for a catheter came right on.

So we go from laughing at "Lucy" to some old guy going, "I have a new, painless catheter that I want to tell you all about," and then it shows pictures on how it works.

My dad and I were laughing at this too, but I'm thinking what is this doing on here? I don't watch TV Land that often so I don't know how long this has been going on. Talk about buzz-kill.

It's not just TVLAND, it is all the stations. I see Pat Boone talking about walk in tubs, his daughter for Life style lifts, and more medical type stuff than ever. What ever happened to the coffee, toothpaste, shampoo, cereal ads I used to see in the 1970's??

Now there are these extra-long commercials for Humana Medicare Advantage plans. The first time I saw one, I thought the channel decided to start running an infomericial. I'd say 95% of the commercials they show, especially during the daytime, are all medical/health products, most of which are questionable anyway.

This happens a lot on Antenna TV and Me TV too. It pretty much does kill the mood. Especially when you're eating while watching TV!!!

Well they are targeting the audience.

It's like when I watch The Price is Right; all of the products on commercials are for old people.

I feel sorry for the young teens. It must be tough seeing what older life may bring.

This is why I shun both Commercial and Pay-TV. I find these kinds of commercials to be Extremely Offensive . Unfortunately, because the MAJORITY of people find these kinds of commercials offensive, the Advertisers hide behind the Constitution and claim they have a "Right' to air these kinds of ads. But let an ad offend a MINORITY, and the ad will be withdrawn without hesitation.

Holy Hypocrisy, Batman!

I don't know what to think about a cancer commercial hoping someone has cancer so they can make money

I refuse to look at anymore cancer commercials

The only time I don't have to worry about seeing cancer commercials is when I watch football on sundays

I don't mind the Cancer Treatment of America commercials. Well I do but if the commercial helps someone, I am all for seeing it. I could be ill. Then again does the treatment center help?. I hope so. Now a days ,you, the consumer finds info from commercials. Years ago, your doctor told you.

It's the same old story really.De-regulation/no more controls of TV advertising on American television is to blame. All these types of commercials used to be banned.--And I can almost guarantee you would never see those types of commercials in Canada,Western Europe and so on where TV advertising is still controlled.

The cancer commercials kills the mood you are in when watching a TV show and should be banned from TV

Those centers should be advertised in magazines or online

There is absolutely no reason to regulate commercials.

It is very difficult for many to watch cancer commercials after just laughing at a comedy.

Those commercials should be banned
