Right before I came here, I was over on the "Gimme a Break!" page telling my buddies there about some very interesting things that I learned from watching a "Flintstones" upload over on You Tube. You would have to read the thread itself to understand what a "Flintstones" upload has to do with "Gimme a Break!" or "Mad About You" for that matter. For those of you who are interested, my last thread on the "Gimme a Break!" page is called "The Year Before". In any event, one thing that some of you probably know is that this show's Helen Hunt had auditioned for the part of Katie from that series back in 1981. She was beaten out by Kari Michaelsen. The former star was born in 1963 and the latter was born in 1961. Well, the way that the "Flintstones" aspect of this comes in has to do with something that I learned about the year in between the births of these two chicks! You see, although all of the "Flintstones" cartoons were drawn in color the network that aired them did not have the equipment to show them in color when the series made its debut. The "Flintstones" came out in 1960. It was not until 1962 that ABC became a color network. It it because of this that the "Flintstones" were shown in color from the third season on. However, it is because the cartoons were always drawn in color that all of the syndicated episodes got to be shown in color. Just for fun, I would like to point out that the lovely little Helen Hunt was born the year after ABC TV went color!
