Here Comes Helen

Once up a time, I posted a thread called "Jamie Buchman". For those of you who are not familiar with the name, she was a character played by Helen Hunt from "Mad About You". By the way, that is one of the very few shows that I enjoyed even more than "Gimme a Break!"! That is mainly because I thought that Helen's character from that show was even hotter than Julie from this show! I would have to reaquaint myself with that thread to refresh my own memory as to what it was about or what it had to do with "Gimme a Break!". However, I see that at this point, it has eighty-two views and zero replies. I would like to commemorate this event by mentioning that in 1982, good old Helen made her one and only guest appearance on "Gimme a Break!" The episode was called "An Unmarried Couple" and Helen played Katie's pregnant friend Valarie. What do you guys think of that episode? I thought that it was pretty decent. In the next season, there was a follow-up episode called "Take my Baby Please". However, in this episode, Valarie was played by a different actress. Does anyone know why they hired a different bit-part player rather than get Helen Hunt to come back?
