The issue of TV guide lenny was carrying in his coat was outdated. The issue was from August 1977 and this episode aired in Feb of 1978

The episode was probably filmed in August, 1977 which would explain why the TV Guide was outdated when the episode originally aired. The producers probably didn't figure that someone on a message board would analyze the magazine 34 years later and call them on it.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too - but then I wouldn't put it past Lenny to palm off outdated TV Guide issues on some unsuspecting sucker.

It was filmed in November of 1977 so it was still somewhat outdated but within that year
