I know that the Addams Family was based on characters created by the famous cartoonist Charles Addams. But I was wondering, how much, if any, involvement did he have with the actual show, as far as any of you know?

I know Charles Addams picked the characters' names. In his comics, they had no names. I read that he picked two names for Gomez and let John Astin choose. Also, the house was based off of Charles Addams NYC apartment, where he had suits of armor and stuff like that.

Also, I believe he attended a party that Carolyn Jones threw for her friends.

My grandparents had several books with his cartoons in them, VERY funny stuff, I always enjoyed reading them as a young boy. He was a great talent!
