Default For those interested in the 1965 Jackie Gleason Christmas Special...

I mentioned about two years ago, there was a person on IOffer.com selling it. The original listing was taken down but it is now up again.

http://www.ioffer.com/i/jackie-gleason-christmas-special-1965-rare!-480481679

The original listing may have been made by a different person as they had a different address but how many people would post the same exact photos?

Not to nitpick, but in the interest of accuracy, he is selling the 1966 episode. While Jackie performed this sketch in '65, it was in black and white. The Gleason Show wasn't in color until the fall of 1966, as evidenced by the TV Land airing of The Adoption, originally shown on January 8, 1966, in black and white.

This show is a favorite for holiday viewing and I was hoping that although it's not a Honeymooners show, that MPI would have released it officially. However, I'm guessing the music licensing fees would have made it cost prohibitive. I do know that I would not have wanted to see generic music dubbed in.

My error as well. Should be '66 not '65.

Agree, if MPI will not release the 1977 Christmas reunion, then I doubt they would have much interest in this release. Though we can always hope for a Christmas miracle!

On a related note, there used to be a dealer on iOffer from Florida that used to post here on the forum that was selling this show with others on iOffer (it is NOT Frank ... Frank is an honest guy that I will vouch for from a couple of trades we had done in the past). We were in contact for a long time, did a trade, and I was burned, I never received my trade. Just a buyer beware warning .... that's my Bicentennial Minute for today!

Thank you very much. I tried to contact this guy several years ago and he never responded.

By the way, when I contacted the guy who is selling this special last year, I asked him if he had the short Color sketches. He said that he didn't but he recommended a guy named Steve West.

I contacted Steve and did a trade in October of last year. He also claimed to have that Honeymooners episode entitled "TV Game of The Week" episode as well as the uncut version of "Life Upon The Wicked Stage." I did send him what he wanted but he said that he is busy with other tape traders, working and moving across the country from Culver City, CA to Virginia. I haven't heard back from him since 11/10/11. I have been e-mailing him several times with no response.
