I know for a fact that this 1960's based TV show was cancelled in 2005 on NBC. However, some of you, fans of this show, wished that it had lasted longer and I feel bad for you, fans. I also feel bad for those fans who wish that the last two seasons of the show were on DVD by now, but they're not yet. After its 1st season, the TV Land said that it would be a future classic on its network according to its award show in 2003.
Do you know what they should do about this? I think that they should make a movie based on this TV show at Universal Studios. They produced the show with Once a Frog Productions and Dick Clark Productions for NBC-TV and they should do it with their cast reuniting for it. I, once made that suggestion in e-mail messages to Universal Studios and Dick Clark Productions to see if anybody could write a screenplay for such a movie. I sure hope they can for the fans' sake. Possibly, Jonathan Prince, the man who created the show, can do it. That would give the show the respect that it should have had. At the end of the very 1st episode, President Kennedy died as the show took place in 1963. When the series ended, the show took place in 1966. I say that the movie should take place in 1976 because the show took place in Philadelphia, which is where the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, and that's also ten years after where the show left off. That means that they're about to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial in the movie. So, what do you make of this and who's with me on this one? I sure hope that a lot of you will love this post and give it support for there to be a big-screen movie based on this show for Universal Pictures. I'd even settle for a made-for-TV one for NBC. Thank you very much! Sincerely, CLevPlus |
