Best of Three's Company-Lucille Ball=part 2 Oh how I wish these two eps can be removed from the syndication package and never released on DVD. lol Lucille Ball just chilling in the trio's apartment doing a flashback LOL Who was the genius who thought of this episode idea? |

If I recall, Lucy was a big Three's Company fan, so when it was decided to make a flashback episode, Lucy was asked to host it. Whether it was a good idea or not is a matter of opinion, but that explains why Lucy ended up hosting a Three's Company flashback. It was similar to when they did a retrospective of All In The Family to celebrate the 100th episode, Henry Fonda hosted that one.

This is just my opinion but I think that Flashback should have been something only for ABC back in 82 or DVD Not in syndication since it's all flashback |

I like the bit with her and John, though. It would've been cool to see her actually guest star on the show. I adore Lucille Ball.

I remember that. At the beginning she says something like, "You know what I love about this show? It doesn't try to change the world!" I always felt like that was an indirect diss of All In The Family. Lucille hated All In The Family and campaigned against it.

She probably didn't like AITF because it wasn't a GOOFY SHOW like her show. Three's Company was similar to I Love Lucy because they both had similar comedy styles. |

I don't mind the best of, it don't bother me any.
Speaking of AITF, they have a best of in syndication too with Henry Fonda hosting. |

I agree 100% with Lucille. Btw, I think think the best way to handle the Best of Three's Company episode was to make it an additional show and air it another night or the same night after the regular episode or something similar. |

I like the flashback episode, and I love that Lucy hosted it!!
I too wish that she had guest-starred on the show. How awesome would her and John be together in a physical comedy scene?!?! ![]() I am a big AITF fan, but I have to agree with what Lucy said about Three's Company: "It didn't set out to change the world. It just made us laugh and that is why we love it."

Fun Fact: Lucille Ball was also a big fan of Cheers and almost guest starred on that too, but opted not to.

I like the Best of show . Just about all hit shows had one or more back in those days. Family Ties had a bunch of them.
